As the supervisor in the IT Branch, you will be supervising a team of specialists performing Systems Administration and the delivery of Information Technology. You will coordinate and integrate the work of employees involved in automation operations, systems administration and projects. Also, formulate and publish technical guidance and standard operating procedures for IT specialists; and ensure that supplies, equipment and other materials are available. The IT Supervisory Specialist will implement systems security plans, policies and preventive maintenance schedules; perform assignments using standard principles, theories, concepts and methods for systems administration and systems engineering.
You will provide ongoing optimization and problem solving support to minimize interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities; interpret IT policies, standards and guidelines; develop network usage policies and procedures; provide advice and guidance to managers and customers on a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols, and equipment used in providing information technology customer support services; reviews proposed regulations and procedural changes, and provides time estimates for proposed projects; as well as develop new methods approaches and procedures.
Develop performance management plans and performance measurement methods and tools. Apply methods for identifying and resolving IT workforce issues. Develop goals and objectives to support the organization's Information Technology Strategic Plan. Prepare the budget submission in support of the IT Capital Plan. Lead development of an enterprise IT modernization plan. Using knowledge of the interrelationships of multiple IT disciplines, advise senior management on solutions to a wide range of IT issues. Serve as the senior expert or consultant. Responsible for developing and implementing information security and information assurance policies, principles, and practices. Develop and forecast implementation schedules.
Supervise assigned staff, define organizational objectives and specific goals of the subordinate IM element, plan short-range and long-range work to be accomplished, and adjust long-range schedules, objectives, and goals in relation to the workload, personnel required, and priorities.
_Qualification Requirements:_
Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management. OR
One year specialized system installation and programming experience sufficient to demonstrate knowledge and skill in:
IT theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods;
IT policy and planning concepts and practices;
Interrelationships of multiple IT disciplines;
Methods, approaches, and practices for managing communities of interest involved in development and implementation of IT archetectures, investment planning, e-government, and other IT related legislative and policy initiative.
Knowledge of at least two of the following is preferred, though not required:
CYMS (Child and Youth Management Systems)
RecTrac (Parks and Recreation Management Software)
TLMS (Time Labor Management Systems)
Enterprise Networking
